Our History

With a spark of an idea and the desire to help others The Job Shoppe was born in Windsor, Ontario.

2003 - 2008

The Job Shoppe was founded in Windsor, Ontario, with a mission to help others find meaningful work. By 2008, Meighen was recognized a sone of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs (Profit W100), and the company expanded its operations into London, Ontario, establishing a strong foundation in the region.

2009 - 2014

As the company grew, TheJob Shoppe expanded its corporate headquarters in 2010. In 2013, it was named"Business of the Year" by the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce and gained recognition by Profit 500 as one of Canada’s Top Entrepreneurs. This period also marked international growth with the launch of The Job Shoppe USA division in 2014.

2015 - 2018

The Job Shoppe launched a dedicated corporate recruitment division in 2016, and the company's commitment to client-satisfaction was recognized with the Best in Staffing Award. By 2018, The Job Shoppe became an approved recruitment supplier for major automotive companies like BMW, FCA, and Volvo, solidifying its position as a trusted industry partner.

2019 - 2023

The Job Shoppe embraced a digital-first approach during the global pandemic in 2020, incorporating virtual recruiting, video interviews, online career fairs, and assessments. In 2021, the WindsorCorporate Challenge was established, benefiting local families. By 2023, TheJob Shoppe celebrated its 20th anniversary!

2024 - Present

Meighen was honoured with the prestigious Athena Leadership Award. In 2024, The Job Shoppe became an approved recruitment partner for the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle(EV) sector, further expanding its presence in innovative industries.
