I'm not sure where to go on my first day.

The Job Shoppe provides each associate with an Assignment Details sheet before their first shift. This document provides associates with valuable information about their placement, including:
- Assignment Location
- Entrance Point
- Reporting To
- Assignment Shift Times
- Required Attire
-  PPE items

How do I know if I'm scheduled to work today?

For associates who are placed in an ongoing position, you are considered scheduled unless a cancellation email is sent.

For associates who are placed in a temporary or casual position, your recruiter will confirm your shifts.

If you are still unsure if you are scheduled, please reach out to your recruiter.

How do I know if my shift has been cancelled?

All shift cancellations are communicated via email. If you do not receive a cancellation email, please report to your scheduled shift. Please make sure that you are checking both your inbox and junk folders for any cancellation emails.

What happens if I miss a shift?

If you are unable to attend a scheduled shift, you must follow the call-in procedure specific to your assignment. Failure to report your absence properly may result in attendance infractions and disciplinary action.

What is the call-in procedure if I can't make my shift?

Each assignment has its own specific call-in procedure. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the requirements when you begin an assignment. Follow the process to report any absence as early as possible.

Can I decline an assignment?

Yes, you can decline an assignment. However, it’s important to communicate your decision to your recruiter as early as possible so they can fill the position with another candidate.

What happens at the end of my placement?

When your placement ends, you remain an active employee of The Job Shoppe. You will be notified of future opportunities, and your profile will be considered for other suitable assignments.

How do I update my availability for shifts?

You can update your availability by logging into the Associate App and modifying your availability settings. Make sure your information is always up-to-date to avoid scheduling conflicts.

What do I do if I showed up but a told my shift was cancelled?

If your shift was cancelled after you arrived at the work site, please fill out the Shift Cancellation Form available in the associate portal. This will notify our team, and we will ensure it is addressed promptly.

What do I do if my ID Badge is lost, stolen, or damaged?

If your ID badge has been lost, stolen, or damaged and you need a replacement, fill out the ID Badge Replacement Form in the associate portal. You may be subject to a replacement fee, and we will provide instructions on how to receive your new badge.

What is the Associate App, and how does it work?

The Associate App is used for scheduling, time tracking, and communication at certain client locations. It helps you manage your shifts and stay informed. If you are assigned to a client that uses the app, you will be required to download it and log in to track your hours and receive notifications about your shifts.

What should I do if my ID Badge is lost, stolen, or damaged?

If your ID Badge is lost, stolen, or damaged, you must report it immediately to your representative at The Job Shoppe. To request a replacement badge, fill out the Replacement ID Badge form. A new badge will be issued, and the fee for the replacement will be deducted from your next paycheque.

How much does a replacement ID Badge cost?

The cost of a replacement ID Badge will be deducted from your next paycheque. Please refer to the form for the exact amount.

What happens if I don’t swipe my ID Badge for a shift?

f you fail to swipe your ID Badge for a shift, it will result in missed time, and you may receive an infraction. This could affect your pay, so it's important to swipe in and out for every shift.

Can I get a refund for the ID Badge fee after my assignment ends?

Yes, you can receive a refund of the ID Badge fee if you return the badge in good condition to The Job Shoppe within seven (7) days after the completion of your assignment. If the badge is not returned or is damaged, the fee will be forfeited.

Where do I return my ID Badge when my assignment is over?

Once your assignment is complete, you must return your ID Badge to The Job Shoppe’s mailbox, located at the back of the main office, within seven (7) days to be eligible for a refund of the ID Badge fee.
